OTD: Green Chinos

I have come to the conclusion that I need a new camera. I am really sad because it's really not that old. But technology has put my camera to shame. I may need to invest in a better quality one in the near future. Or just borrow Parker's haha.

I have been in love with my green chinos from Gap. They are the most comfortable pants in the world.

why hello there.

Shirt: Forever 21 {old}// Pants: Gap// Shoes: Nordstrom Rack// Glasses: Gap// Watch: Target
Necklace: My Grandma's
Lips: Revlon Lip Butter in "Candy Apple"

Note to self: choose a more creative background. The garage door and stained cement from cars and motorcycles being worked on is not the business. Better luck next time! :)

Europe Packing List: What I am Bringing With me...Officially!

Yes, I know I am not leaving in about 20 something days, but what can I say? I'm a planner.

I did a practice run of packing my backpack.
Needless to say, I am taking A LOT less than what I thought I would. It took me four tries to get the perfect layout of clothes. This whole time I thought rolling and folding clothes would leave me with a lot of space...I was incorrect.

This is what 3 weeks worth of clothes and toiletries looks like. Not really. I will be washing my clothes a lot. And wearing the same outfits many many times. But I am willing to sacrifice variety if that means I can bring home more stuff...clothes included!

All of this fit in my backpack. It took very little skill, but a crazy amount of patience and creativity. I am not bringing my nicest clothes because I will be washing it in the hostel's washing machines and sometimes sinks. I do not want to risk ruining my favorite shirt.

The outfit I will be wearing on the plane is not included. But I am bringing my F-troops, Toms, shower sandals, a microfiber towel, cotton sheets, wind breaker, 2 pairs of chinos, 1 pair of shirts, a long black skirt, a floral scarf, 1 long sleeve black shirt, grey and white short sleeve shirts, and a white tank.

1 shirt and 1 pair of pj bottoms, my toiletries, jewelry, makeup, and two E-bag packing cubes.

This is the jewelry I will be bringing. Minus a few pairs of studs because I kind of forgot to add that in. The two necklaces, from Forever 21, will hopefully make my very similar outfits look different. My watch is a cheapo one from Target and my bracelet is from Forever 21.

This is my E-bag packing cube that is filled with more delicate items such as my underwear, bras, bathing suit, and headbands.

I am only bringing 7 pairs of underwear. I am bringing light cotton ones and Victoria's Secret Yoga underwear {they will dry fast after being washed}. I am also bring a slip to go with my skirt, 2 bras and one sports bra {to sleep in}, one bathing suit, and 3 headbands from Forever 21. Luckily all of these items will squish down to be pretty small. A backpackers dream.

As of right now, my toiletries will be in a Ziploc. Once I get there I will put them in my packing cube and makeup bag. I am bringing a travel size lotion since I will buy a bigger one when I get there, Lush's Grease Lightening to prevent breakouts, Woolite to wash my clothes in the sink, perfume samples from Sephora so I don' t have to bring a travel size one, toothpaste, wrinkle release spray, BB Cream, dry shampoo, hand sanitizer, moisturizer, and shampoo.

This is my second E-bags packing cube contents. It includes antibacterial wipes, face wipes, personal wipes {for the overnight trains and if you can't shower}, a bar of soap from Lush, solid shampoo and conditioner from Lush, clothesline, deodorant, Q-tips, lint roller, sunscreen stick, and my Baggu bag.

You also cannot forget your sink stopper and a journal. I am a total nut about documenting everything exciting that goes on. My parents got me this journal for my 21st birthday when I first expressed being interested in traveling. It came with maps for the metro for Paris which will come in handy!

I recently posted about my essential makeup items. Since it's not posted, click here to check it out. And if you were wondering where I got some of my supplies, click here.

Stay tuned for my next post of my packing list!

Festival Packing List:

Coachella is this weekend woohoo!!!
{and next weekend. double woohoo}

I am a sad girl. I will not be attending this year because all of my money is going to Europe. But it's totally worth it.

I went to Coachella last year and it was one of the best weekends of my life! I'm not over exaggerating. I met so many people from all over the world. I played beer pong with girls from Australia. They were awesome! We almost made the greatest decision of getting a car camping pass. Yes, it was hot during the day, but like I said, you meet so many people! Plus you can just feel the energy and it is amazing.

Fun Fact:
Growing up, I always laughed at the girls that were crying their eyes out during a concert. I became one of those girls. My weekend was actually quite emotional. Friday I was having a blast listening to the Black Keys, Saturday I was calm with Radiohead and Bon Ivor, and then Sunday I could not stop crying during Florence and the Machine. {one of my favorite performers}. Seriously I couldn't even sing along because I had such a cleansing emotional breakdown. But it was a positive! Then an hour later I was having an amazing time at Snoop Dog and Dr. Dre. It was an amazing roller coaster haha.

Okay so let's get down to business. Coachella is hot. Plain and simple. They do have some spots with shade but there are pretty spaced out and most of the stages don't have shade. So help yourself and wear the right clothing! Leave the cute jeans at home and stick to loose and comfy clothing. You don't have to sacrifice fashion to be comfortable!

1. tank
2. dress
4. shoes
5. shorts
6. bag

These inspirations are a perfect example of what's functional. Add cute accessories and BAM!! You don't want your outfit to hold you back from being comfy and having the time of your life!

Valentines Day

Yesterday was pretty busy for me. I woke up, cleaned, did homework, got ready and went to visit with Parker. On Wednesday's I have tried to show what I eat. Well, I took a picture of my breakfast and that's about it. I ate my lunch in the car, and it wouldn't be safe to drive in 405 traffic, eat, and take a picture, right? Then dinner was at a pizza place and I forgot to take a picture. Woopsies! I will pick back up next week!

I wanted to take a timeout from 30 Days of Blogging. I realized my blogging days revolve around it, so I wanted to switch it up a bit.

Today is Valentine's Day
{how can you not know, the red and pink hearts are EVERYWHERE}
Parker left this morning to go to Arizona for a tournament so I will be solo tonight. I plan on having a date night by myself. And I am totally fine with that! Sometimes you need a night to yourself to regroup and focus.

My night will consist of a little bit of last minute homework, Netflix, maybe a glass of wine, and whatever I feel like cooking myself. If I could have shopped before this, I would have worn this:Va

bottoms- how comfy looking are these?!!?!?!?!
sweater-although it's not really a pajama shirt, it looks soft and you need something with a heart on it!

I hope you have a great Valentine's Day!!

Fashion Epiphany?

What exactly is a fashion epiphany you ask?
Well, to me, it's a weeks worth of dreams of me wearing certain clothes.
{Oh, and in one of the dreams, I was best friends with Lauren Conrad.}
Call me crazy, but I did finally realize what I felt comfortable in.

A Look Back
After I graduated high school, I was into the "beach/hippy" look, which consisted of showing off my stomach, not wearing a bra, wearing flowy clothing and shorts that are far too short. Living in Southern California, that was the norm.
But I realized that my self expression wasn't getting positive attention.
Instead of being looked at for my creative clothes, I was getting looked at because of my "goods".
Which I hate because I think that a girl/woman should be free to express herself without being eyeballed from head to toe, but that's something I will not get started on.

Then it hit me, I can still express myself with what I wear, but I don't have to have my newest belly button piercing showing all the time.  I didn't want to have a hard time picking out what to wear to school or a family dinner because all of my appropriate clothes were dirty. Thanks to those dreams, I have gone through my closet and picked out clothes to sell that just don't fit my mindset anymore.
{is that called growing up? yikes}

If Parker reads this, he will be laughing and clapping with joy because all of these brands I called "old lady clothing" I am now in love with.  I was being too stubborn to realize a confident and slightly conservative girl is the best looking out there
{at least for me}

Phew. Now that My thoughts are out there, I can move on to what I am planning on purchasing as soon as I get back to work!
J. CREW
shorts-I'm mostly legs, so these are the perfect length.
shirt-Obsessed with stripes. End of story.
flats-I really like this color. They would spruce up a simple outfit.
bag-Yellow makes me happy. Plus this bag is the perfect size.
bracelet-Will make you feel feisty.
necklace-Ahoy! Gold is flattering on almost every skin tone.
belt-Love the brown and pink!
blouse-Polka dots are classic in my book.

jeans-Selvage denim for women. That fits. WHAAAT?!
shirt- simple red that looks good any time of the year.
chambray- flattering cut.
pants- great neutral color that you can pair up with other neutrals or add pops of color.

Wish List Wednesday!

This weekend Parker and I have an art show to go to. I didn't want to wear jeans, I can't wear a skirt or my ugly knee brace will show. But I found these pants that I cannot wait to get from H&M!!

And with this tank

And these flats {super cheap!}

I couldn't find a blazer or sweater that I loved, but I know I'll find one somewhere in the mall! I can't wait to try on those pants, holy cow. I don't know why I am so drawn to them!

Wish List Wednesday!

I haven't been able to work since I hurt my knee, so that means no new anything for me! But it's a sacrifice I am willing to make, since I still have a car payment, cell phone bill, and like to help out with the groceries as much as I can.

I just told my boyfriend that I love this time of year, because it's my favorite time to shop. Guess I will be sitting this one out. I love buying chunky sweaters to go with my leggings, tights, or jeans.

Since I did boots last week, I thought it would be appropriate to pair it up with my favorite sweaters styles that are out there right now. :]

I have an addiction....

...to nail polish! I love it. It's so pretty. When my nails are freshly painted, it makes me feel sophisticated haha.
I recently hopped on the gel nails bandwagon, but it added up quickly so now I'm back to my good 'ol polishes.
I bought a spice rack a few months ago and turned it into a polish rack. It's cute too! It was under $20 on Amazon. I got the idea from Pinterest!
{gotta love it}

It's missing a few, which leads me to my favorites for October. I love red's for fall and winter. So I chose a couple to share.

From left to right:
Love & Beauty (Forever 21) is more of a maroon color, the name rubbed off :[
Wet N Wild in Everybody Loves Redmond 221C
Sally Hansen in Red Carpet
O.P.I. in The One That Got Away
China Glaze in Sangria

Wish List Wednesday!

I love drooling over the latest fall fashions, and have fallen in love with so many pieces! So I figured if I put it out to the universe, they just may show up on my door step!

Today's theme is...BOOTS! I love my boots. Here in California the weather has been too warm to wear them, but it is supposed to cool down soon. (Keep your fingers crossed!)

Frye's "Veronica"

Sam Edelman's "Flat Riding Boots in Penny"

Both of these boots are great for both fall AND winter. Pair them up with jeans, leggings, or even tights and a skirt.

The Foothill Lace-Up Boot in suede
Madewell's "Foothill Lace-up boot in Suede"
Zara's "Studded Cowboy Ankle Boot"
I love lace up boots because you can wear them with anything from jeans to dresses. Madewell has GREAT quality shoes, so you are getting what you pay for.
Ankle booties have a place in my heart. They flatter the female foot so well, and the studs on the back add some edgy-ness to your look. It would be great with some leggings are even a cute pair of black tailored shorts. They can be very playful so let your creativity run wild!
