This may be TMI for some, but I love waxing. I think it is way better than shaving.
I have no problem waxing myself.
I actually feel as though I am a stronger woman for waxing myself.
Because I am literally causing the pain I feel.
It is a little intense when you think about it.
But anyways, a while ago I found a recipe on Pinterest for sugar waxing.
I have been intrigued with the process because
1. It doesn't stick to your skin, so it hurts less
{BINGO!}
2. It's made with food so there is a less chance of irritation.
Anything made with food or is natural is alright in my book!
I tried to today. The recipe was simple:
2 cups of sugar
1/4 cup of lemon juice
1/4 cup of water
To cut to the chase...it was HORRIBLE.
It did not cook the right way, and it was as thick as honey, instead of wax.
I suggest you do not use this recipe. There are other poor reviews on it too, that of course, I found after the fact.
{kinda looks like pee here, haha}
I researched a little more and then found a better recipe
{this one actually worked!!!}
it's...
2 cups of sugar
2 teaspoons of lemon juice
3/4 cup of water
You let it come to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium so it is at a constant simmer.
The mixture's end result is supposed to be a golden brown, kind of like a honey color.
Well I lost track of time and burnt it. Pretty bad.
It is a dark brown. A dark, dark, brown.
I need to find a happy medium.
I will try again and once I am successful, I will have a review to see how much better this works!
