After going over my posts, I realized I haven't really jumped in with both feet. I have dipped my big toe in and that's about it. I apologize for just skimming the top of these questions with answers that aren't really coming from my heart. So now I will dive right in to day 4!
1. Be comfortable with yourself
When I was 16, I didn't have much self confidence. I had friends and was on the volleyball team, had a boyfriend, you know, the "norm". But I would spend and hour and a half to get ready, and make sure that my outfit was perfect.
{which it wasn't because at that point I didn't have personal style}
At the end of each class I would curl my eyelashes, touch up my face makeup and mascara, brush my perfectly flat ironed hair, and put on a little bit of body spray. WHO DOES THAT?! So much wasted energy.
2. Stop with the black eyeliner
I'm sure I am not the only girl that thinks this, but holy cow, I needed to stop. I have hazel eyes, so brown eyeliners make them pop! Black makes my eyeballs stand out, but in a very dramatic way that is a little over the top for high school.
3. Get Away From Drama
GIRLS ARE CRAZY! Trust me, I am one. I cannot believe the drama that was caused in high school. Girls should stick together, instead we just verbally rip each other to shreds. If I could go back, I would cut the ties with A LOT of girls. Everyday someone was being called a slut, whore, etc. You name it, it was being said about someone that I knew. The sad part was, most of them were rumors. And was is even more sad, I believed them and spread them without even realizing it. It still makes me upset at myself for the feelings I may have hurt.
4. Reach Out More
After high school, I became friends with people that I didn't personally know from my classes, but we were on a first name "hi how are you?" basis. I would ask how come we never talked in high school? I've gotten the response "I thought you wouldn't want to talk to me" or "I didn't think you were nice, but now I know you are!". It KILLS me to think that people that didn't know me thought I was mean or rude. I could have made way more friends if maybe I reached out to people more. Gosh, it makes me feel like Regina George from "Mean Girls". And I tried not to be a mean girl in high school!
5. You Are So Young
I had a boyfriend in high school. Don't get me wrong, he was a nice guy, but if I could do it over again, I would have waited to have a boyfriend until I was around 18. I did however learn a lot about relationships and myself, but at 16, you don't know who you are. Heck, I'm 22 now and still don't know who I am. The time and energy that is invested into relationships should have been invested into myself. My dad always said "Cailee, you don't need a boyfriend in high school, you are still a kid". Of course I was like "Dad, I'm 16, I'm not a kid". Yes Cailee, you were. Listen to your dad.
totally agree about the boyfriend thing... ugh! LOL. but, you live and you learn! :)
