1. My Family
In the past two years, my family and I have been through A LOT. Both immediate and extended. I have grown so close to my cousins and Aunt and it makes me so happy. Not getting into all the details because it will be in a blog post later on, but we suffered great loss in the past 2 years but it has brought us closer together and made us a strong family unit. I am also very blessed to have gotten closer to my Uncle that lives in Illinois. He spent a lot of time out here to help my grandparents get on their feet when my Papa was diagnosed with prostate cancer. I rarely get to see my Uncle and his family, but luckily I was able to see both of my cousins. Sadly, my Aunt stayed back and held down the fort, but I can't wait to see her soon! {fingers crossed}
2. My School
Yes, you read that right. I am FINALLY on track and have a goal that I know I can meet and conquer. After high school, I was a lost little puppy when it came to school. I had no idea what I wanted to do or where I was going. I am now behind compared to the average 22 year old student, but I am okay with that. I have worked really hard to achieve my goal of transferring next semester, and it is finally happening! I just have to get through Spring and Summer semesters and I am ready to work towards my Bachelors! So long, community college.
3. My Man
This may sound cheesy, but he makes me pretty dang happy. We have been together for almost 3 years, and they have been really fun. I have also learned a lot about myself, how to have a healthy relationship with not just him but people in general. His family has accepted me from day one and they are some of the nicest people I have ever met. I am really excited for going to Europe with Parker and cannot wait for other future adventures. He is very driven and smart, and I know he will go far.
4. My Recovery
After my surgery, I felt like I could never run again. But to my surprise, I am actually ahead of the normal recovery process. Tomorrow I start on the stationary bike at physical therapy and I am so excited. I am going to start back at the gym this week too. It's going to feel great to be back to my old self and not so jiggly. My muscle disappeared completely, so I have a feeling the next month or so is going to be pretty painful and sore, haha.
5. My Friends
I saved this one for last. I have a lot to say about it, but I think it would be just far too long. I am extremely happy with my friends. Throughout the years, I have had many friends in my life, but I only stayed in contact with a handful after high school. Everyone told me that would happen, but I didn't believe it. Well, it happened. The ones that I did stay in contact with are my closest ones. I don't necessarily talk to them every day or see them every weekend, but when we do get together, it's like it was yesterday when we last talked. I love each and every one of my friends. I am a pretty lucky girl.
