I had to take a little break from blogging.
School was getting a littttttlllleeeee crazy and plus I have been fighting a cold for weeks now, and it kinda won the past couple of days.
So last night, as usual, I was on Netflix and stumbled upon a nifty documentary:
"Chemercial"
Now, if you are watching it late at night, I suggest you wait until morning because it will make you want to go through your WHOLE house and get rid of all cleaning chemicals. It focuses on a family that took on a challenge of not having ANY toxic cleaning supplies in their house for three months. They had experts come in and show them what to purchase instead and how to make their own out of plant based products. I could go on and on but you should see for yourself.
I connected with this because I have recently started cleaning with only baking soda and vinegar. I find that it gets everything cleaner without the bad smells and toxic chemicals. You can get it on your skin and have no reaction what so ever.
Please check out the website of the documentary. I am putting up an ad in the sidebar because I 100% support the cause, so feel free to click on it and check it out! Imagine what you, your kids, and your pets are breathing, eating off of, and being exposed to every single day! Scary right?!
I also am going to document my adventure in exploring safer alternatives. I am going to attempt to make my own laundry detergent in the future which I am really excited about. I also would like to make my own dishwashing detergent, tooth paste, and soap.

love this post! I have been disinfecting Riley's toys lately with diluted vinegar recently, works just as good! :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes it does! It stinks but not as bad a bleach. I use vinegar for everything. It's a life saver!
